Paintball Sidearm -
Question ... What to do with one of the cheapest paintball
markers ever made? If you've ever had your hands on one of these, you were probably wondering the exact same thing. I bought a couple of Series 5000's to try some things on. Here's what came of the first one. This conversion took about 10 minutes. :) First I chopped the barrel and pump assembly off leaving about 1" of the barrel. I then drilled a 3/16" hole in the bolt on the opposite side that the pump arm attached to.
After drilling the bolt, I made the rear cocking rod. I took a piece of 3/16" zinc square rod ($.69 at hardware store) and made the following bends. I slipped a piece of rubber tubing over the back end for a grip. Notice the slight curve in the rod. This pushes against the inside of the body which keeps pressure on the front end to keep it from popping out of the bolt. I then had to notch out the back of the body to make the cocking rod fit through. This took me about 30 seconds with the dremel. After putting it back together I had a lightweight sidearm. Later I addes an ammo feed tube that sits on top of the gun like on stock class markers.. |
