Evil Paintball Trip Mine

I haven't tested this but I am posting it as I have used a similar concept and know it will work. You should be able to bury most of it, however the nozzle, spring, rod and valve handle would all be above ground and should be camo and disguised well. Assemble as shown. You can aim the nozzle in different directions. I would have it turned the direction of the tripwire, but for the sake of illustration is is shown aimed straight up. If you want a sloppier effect with less range, you can add a piece of rubber tubing on the nozzle that will flap around like crazy when the mine is set off. To set, fill it with paint through the nozzle. Set the rod and tripwire in place THEN carefully pressurize it by puncturing the 12 gram. When someone is unlucky enough to trip the wire, it will pull the retaining rod allowing the spring to open the ball valve. The result is truly nasty. Imagine about 6oz of liquid paint shooting out of an 1/8" hole at about 700 PSI. This thing should shoot paint some pretty unbelievable distances. Ever used a powerwasher with the straight tip ?  :)
